Overview

RESTAURANT MARK GREENAWAY EDINBURGH – MODERN BRITISH FINE DINING

The award-winning 3 AA Rosettes Restaurant Mark Greenaway Edinburgh is both elegant and exciting – one of those rare dining rooms that manages to induce a sense of calm whilst encouraging anticipation. Mark Greenway  is TV chef and owner of Restaurant Mark Greenaway, voted one of the UKs Top 100 Restaurants in 2014.

Mark Greenaway has come to the general public’s attention thanks to his appearances on BBC2’s Great British Menu in 2012 and 2013 where he represented Scotland. With 3 AA rosettes for Culinary Excellence and named one of the top 100 restaurants in the UK, Restaurant Mark Greenaway  Edinburgh offers modern British fine dining and innovative presentation.

LOCAL SCOTTISH INGREDIENTS

With a passion for Scottish ingredients, Mark makes use of modern techniques to enhance flavours and innovative presentation styles mean a feast for the eyes. Unexpected flavour matches are a theme – for example – in dishes like the honey roast duck which, among other components, is accompanied by a ‘sausage roll’ and watermelon. Greenaway’s expertise as a pastry chef and his love of surprise come together in desserts such as the knot chocolate tart.

INTERIOR

Set in a restored Georgian building, the interior is the work of acclaimed designer Adam Storey, with warm, dark teal and mahogany offset by bespoke metal pieces and brass chandeliers. Once a bank vault, the custom-built cellar houses a stunning wine collection, where the sommelier invites diners to try before ordering.

MENU

A signature starter of Loch Fyne ‘cannelloni’ is served with a glass bowl of smoked cauliflower custard, the smoky fragrance billowing out theatrically when opened.

The produce shines in ‘a tasting of Borders lamb’ and 11-hour slow-roast belly pork, while artistry is at the forefront of a roasted fillet of hake served with lobster tortelloni, purple mash and a pour-your-own ginger and spring onion broth.

And that’s without mentioning the desserts, which are worth a trip in themselves. Come here for a special occasion and be wowed by the skill, precision and confidence in Mark Greenaway’s cooking – it’s a joy to behold.

Restaurant Mark Greenaway Edinburgh serves a three-course Market Menu during lunch and early evening, as well as our a la Carte Selection and an indulgent eight-course Tour Menu – all of which can be enhanced with matched wines.
