Overview

LOCANDA DE GUSTI – AUTHENTIC SOUTHERN ITALIAN FOOD

Locanda de Gusti began life in 2006 on Edinburgh’s East London Street before owners Rosario and Maria Sartore relocated to Dalry Road in May 2014. The 30-cover restaurant serves authentic Neapolitan dishes 6 days a week.

SINCERE TRADITIONS

Locanda de Gusti is a family run restaurant, just a short walk from Haymarket station.

The couple, renowned for their genuine Italian hospitality and respect for traditional recipes and techniques, have been part of the Edinburgh dining scene for almost 30 years. Edinburgh-born Maria hails from a family of restaurant owners whilst Rosario, who was born and raised in Naples, started his culinary career in the capital in 1986 aged just 15.

A PLACE TO RELAX

Following a short relocation hiatus, Locanda de Gusti  restaurant re-opened its doors on Dalry Road on Monday 19 May 2014. The new restaurant is a smaller and more intimate affair though lacks none of its original charm.

HONEST INGREDIENTS

The menu changes daily and includes fresh fish and seafood, hand-made pasta and cakes, with gluten-free options always available. Using authentic ingredients like Gragnano pasta, scamorza, and tomatoes carefully sourced and imported from Italy, as well as top-quality meat, fish and seafood from Scotland, Rosario creates traditional Italian dishes such as linguine à pescatoraprovola dei poveri and babà salsiccia e friariellias well as ‘specialties of the day’.

In addition, Locanda de Gusti serves a selection of gluten-free pastas and desserts. Every day, everything is made from scratch. So there’s always something new to discover each time you visit.

By importing artisan products from Italy and combining them with the best meat, fish and seafood from Scotland, Locanda de Gusti is able to serve unique and exciting dishes in the tradition of Southern Italy.102 Da
