Overview

CHAOPHRAYA EDINBURGH – THE FINEST AUTHENTIC THAI RESTAURANT

Chaophraya Edinburgh is the latest addition of Chaophraya restaurants, it showcases a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. Chaophraya Thai restaurant brings flavour to George Street presenting a fusion of delicious authentic cuisine, luxurious surroundings and a sensational drinks menu.

Initially established in Leeds in 2004, Chaophraya can now be found in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham. Chaophraya (pronounced Chao-pi-ya) takes its name from the main waterway in Thailand. In ancient times this river breathed life into the families who lived along its banks. Today the river is still regarded as part of the essence of Thailand, which is where we take our inspiration.

UNIQUE VENUE IN THE HEART OF THE CITY

Are you looking for a unique venue in the heart of Edinburgh that has the “look-at-me” factor? Serving acclaimed Thai cuisine, Chaophraya Edinburgh is a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. Chaophraya Edinburgh has launched the first ever Ron Zacapa Bar in Scotland.  This dedicated Ron Zacapa Bar is the first of its kind in Scotland and offers cocktail lovers a wide and exciting drinks menu.

AUTHENTIC THAI DISHES

Chaophraya chef director Kim Kaewkraikhot working closely with Head Chef, Yiam Dokpudsha, has designed a unique and interesting menu featuring the best dishes from Thailand. Their motto is “Ow Jai Sai” which translates as “from the heart”. They feel proud of their authentic and creative food, always selecting the freshest ingredients.

With a focus on health and nutrition, the Chaophraya menu foregrounds a selection of colourful dishes, bursting with flavour. The menu is fairly broad with the usual suspects of tempura and satay skewers appearing alongside Scottish inspired options such as seared scallops and black pudding with mango, chilli and palm sugar.

The salads, especially the ever popular shredded papaya, have plenty of fans, as do the seafood dishes. The stir-fried options include duck in roasted chilli and the crispy pork belly with Thai basil – one of the chef’s signature dishes. Vegetarians are well catered for at Chaophraya, and there is also an extensive gluten free selection on offer.
