PAUL KITCHING 21212 – MICHELIN STARRED RESTAURANT IN EDINBURGH

 

Elegant luxury and magical food with a refreshing smattering of madcap fun, in the classy heart of Georgian Edinburgh. Paul Kitching 21212 opened in Edinburgh in May 2009. It has received rave reviews and numerous awards including a Michelin Star in 2010. It is Edinburgh’s only Michelin starred restaurant with rooms.

 

GEORGIAN ELEGANCE 

 

21212 sits in a listed Georgian townhouse in Edinburgh’s Royal Terrace. Set over four floors, it’s light, spacious and airy. It’s also elegant, sumptuously decorated and enjoys commanding views to the Firth of Forth and beyond from the upper level rooms.

 

As well as the 38 seat restaurant with open kitchen, there’s a drawing room, a private and semi-private dining room. Many of the period features have been retained, complemented by contemporary lighting and designer furnishing.

 

21212 is the menu format. The deal is five courses with a choice of two starters, two mains and two desserts, with one soup course and a cheese course in between. Although, there are now three choices in the evening!

 

A UNIQUE MENU  

 

Paul has stayed true to his contemporary French cooking style but has added a unique approach to his menu combinations. Though the menu never has more than three choices for any course, variety is achieved by having a new menu each week. Even regular diners will have something new to experience on their next visit.

 

Lunch: 2 courses - £28; 3 courses - £32; 4 courses - £42; 5 courses - £55

Dinner: 3 courses - £70; 4 courses - £78; 5 courses - £85

 

A HAVEN FOR WINE LOVERS 

 

The restaurant’s extensive wine list means there’s something to suit every palate. And if you need some assistance to select a wine that’s just right for your menu choices, their sommelier is always there to give advice.

 

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
