The Vittoria Group has today announced plans to close and relocate services at two of its La Favorita Delivered branches in Edinburgh.
The multi-award winning family owned business confirmed plans to close Morningside and Blackhall stores at the end of July as part of a project to reduce their exposure in the food delivery markets.
La Favorita delivered will continue to trade from their two other locations at Leith Walk and Portobello stores with staff re-deployed in job vacancies across the growing Vittoria Group restaurant business.
Vittoria Group operate strong restaurant brands in Edinburgh with a portfolio including Vittoria on the Walk, Vittoria on the Bridge, La Favorita, Taste of Italy and the fine dining Italian restaurant, Divino Enoteca in Edinburgh’s Old Town.
Group Chairman, Tony Crolla said:
“We are working hard to ensure that our estate is fit for the current market and we feel confident that a new focused business will provide strong opportunities for growth and profitability especially within our restaurant portfolio.
Our teams are committed on continuing to deliver the levels of service, taste and the experience our loyal customers deserve and we cannot compromise on service or product quality. With this announcement today we can focus on expanding our efforts and resources to the wider group - namely the restaurants who have enjoyed profitable trade in recent years.”
La Favorita Delivered stores at Leith Walk and Portobello will be expanded and delivery services to most of the current postcodes will be managed by staff and drivers at these sites. Customers who currently order from Morningside and Blackhall can continue to use La Favorita Delivered services with goods dispatched from stores at Leith Walk or Portobello.
