North, South, East & West - 4 places to enjoy Valentine's Day in Edinburgh

2 months AGOIain Fenwick News & Events

The West Room in Melville Place at the west end of the city has been under new owenership for the last 6 months and has created quite a buzz! The Cicchetti Bar is offering you 'Valentine's Day without the fuss". A more informal approach but no less intimate. The food and the cocktails are very special at The West Room and we are big fans -

Over theother side of town there is The Lantern Room, paart of the Courtyard by Marriott. The new GM has focused on the food and drink ofering at The Lantern Room since arriving last year and what a difference. They have a fantastic offer on at The Lantern Room that is running through to the weekend, too. The cocktails are rather good! -

Another hotel that offers a very special  dining experience is the Hotel Du Vin on the south side of town. Of course it is a French bistro and the French do romance better than most! The menu is quite extensive and the ambience of the restaurant is unmatched. The wine list is what you would expect too and after dinner you can enjoy a quiet glass or two in the Whisky snug. -

So on to the North side of the city and we have the latest addition to the Stockbridge area. Merienda is barely 5 months open but is proving very popular. Merienda is all about small plate dining. No set menu, no a la carte, you can choose what you want in whatever order you want. The dishes are stunning to look at and delicious to eat. This is a real gem and a must visit. Maybe Valentine's Day is the right opportunity?

Wherever you choose, make sure you don't leave it too late to book! Have a fantstic time and let us know what you thought by posting on our Facebook page
