FAMILIAR FACE BACK ON THE MENU AT GRAND CENTRAL HOTEL

Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel has today (Monday 11th February) announced it has appointed Zoltan Szabo as its new Executive Chef.

Zoltan will officially move into the kitchen from today and was originally part of the Grand Central Hotel’s pre-opening team back in 2010 until 2014.

Paul Bray, General Manager of the Grand Central Hotel, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Zoltan to the Grand Central Hotel and are thrilled to have him join our team.”

He added, "We have an extremely exciting year ahead of us with plenty of investment in the pipeline. We believe we have appointed one of the most talented and creative chefs’ in the industry to lead that change for us and our clients can be equally excite to see what Zoltan brings to the table.”

Zoltan will join the restaurant having previously worked at the Blythswood Hotel for the last 3 years. Whilst working at there, Zoltan was instrumental in elevating the hotel’s food and drink offering across its restaurant and bars.

Zoltan said, “There have been so many fantastic moments with the entire hotel staff at the Blythswood; I will especially miss my kitchen and the people that made it such a great place to work. However, I feel lucky to be joining another great team right in Glasgow’s heart. “

He continued, “I am really looking forward to offering classic and contemporary dishes and true hospitality for everyone. I’m very excited to take the Grand Central Hotel and its team to the next level.”

Guests dining at the Grand Central Hotel can expect Zoltan to work his team in refining the hotel’s offering, keeping it simple yet delicious with dishes that showcase ingredients and flavours that speak for themselves.

Zoltan’s eco-friendly approach to cooking will continue into his new role at The Grand Central Hotel, as he’ll work with local farmers to support Scottish produce where possible. His goal is also to find a home for four beehives somewhere near the hotel, where he believes they will not only support Glasgow’s environment, but will provide much-loved honey to be used in dishes and amenities created for hotel guests.
