What not to miss at this year's Royal Highland Show!

The Royal Highland Show is upon us and here at Citylicious, we are gearing up for what we consider the biggest and best event of the year! As always, we will be there with Quality Meat Scotland (QMS), to help show all the fantastic things they do for the industry year in year out. We will also be taking time to enjoy the fantastic Food & Drink on show throughout the 4 days. Here are a few of the producers that will be there, make sure you make time to pay them a visit.

Quality Meat Scotland - Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) is set to unveil a bright, interactive new-look stand at this year’s Royal Highland Show. The new layout and design of the stand, located in its usual ring-side position, is aimed at inspiring visitors to the show with a lively and inspiring “Scotch Kitchen” cookery theatre, tempting samples and an engaging education area. The line-up of top chefs who will be demonstrating in the Scotch Kitchen cookery theatre include Lady Claire Macdonald, the “Queen of Cuisine” and Jak O’Donnell, chef patron at The Sisters restaurants in Glasgow.

Wagyu House – Stand AB2 in Scotland’s Larder – Wagyu House (part of the Highland Wagyu Group of companies), will be showcasing the very best of Wagyu beef in the UK.  Everything will be available to buy from their stand. You can also chat to the team about the soon to open Grill by HW in Bridge of Allan. A one of a kind restaurant that will deliver the ultimate Wagyu dining experience.

The Gin Bothy – Stand AB3 in Scotland’s Larder – The Gin Bothy are launching the latest addition to their delicious portfolio of local gins, with the introduction of ‘Stirrup Cup Gin’. Kim Cameron will be there to hand out samples of the new gin, along with the multi award winning Gunshot Gin, the UK’s only 3 Star awarded gin. If you’re lucky, Kim might even give you a wee song, a multi-talented lady, Kim is well known for her singing too. Check out this video https://goo.gl/29y1Yw

The Marshmallow Lady – Stand AB4 in Scotland’s Larder – The Marshmallow Lady herself (Nicole Roberts) is making another appearance at the Royal Highland Show this year, to wow everyone with her incredible creations. Regarded as the finest marshmallow maker in the country, Nicole will have a great selection of marshmallows for you to buy. This year, we recommend the Smoked 10yo Tallisker Whisky mallows, the ever-popular Key Lime Pie mallows, and the best seller for the past 7 years, Chocolate Mousse mallows, which among other places are now on the menu at the 5 Star ‘The Balmoral Hotel’ in Edinburgh.

Graham’s Family Dairy – Stand OS2 in Scotland’s Larder – Graham’s always have a stunning set up and we imagine this year will be no different! Make sure you visit the team and sample Protein 22, Quark and Gold Smooth. These are all super delicious and cannot be missed. Graham’s have been a dairy institution in Scotland for many years, and it is great to see continued innovation with the regular introduction of new fantastic products.

Summer Harvest Oils – Stand J05 in Scotland’s Larder – The Rapeseed Oil industry in Scotland is HUGE, and leading the way are Summer Harvest Oils. The Perthshire business is now supplying the best chefs in the country, and you will see their oil being used on television shows like Great British Menu, Live at 5, Sunday Brunch and many more. Make sure you pop over and speak to Mark and Maggie Bush, a lovely couple who have a real passion for what they do. Oh… make sure you taste the Truffle Oil, it’s a little bit special!

On the Sunday, on the Scotland's Larder Live stage, you can see award winning chef Adam Newth from The Tayberry Restaurant in Broughty Ferry. Adam is taking the country by storm and will be opening his second restaurant in St Andrews on June 30th. One of the dishes Adam will be cooking is a beautifil Mackerel dish, cured with The Gin Bothy's chilli gin! Not to be missed!
